Pittsburgh Pirates jersey worn by reliever Enrique Romo during the club's 1979 World Championship season. The yellow knit jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "15" on the left breast and reverse. "Romo" is lettered on a yellow name plate on the reverse, directly above the number. All numerals and front letters are applied in black on white tackle twill. All reverse letters are applied in black tackle twill. A "Wilson 44" label appears in the collar. Both the uniform number and year, "15 79," are chain-stitched in black upon a yellow strip tag on the left front tail. The Pirates' yellow jersey, which was introduced in 1977, was used by the club both at home and on the road before it was retired after the 1984 season. The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear.

Enrique Romo was an integral member of the Pirates pitching staff in 1979, his first season with the club. Appearing in 84 games (second only to closer Kent Tekulve), Romo finished the season with a 2.99 ERA,  5 saves and a record of 10-5. He also appeared in two World Series games. 1979 Pirates jerseys have always been highly desirable among collectors and the offered shirt, worn by a key member of the club, is an outstanding example.
