Many baseball aficionados swear that Hall of Famer Willie Mays, the "Say Hey Kid," with his unique 5-tool ability, is the baseball GOAT. So, what could be better than to have a Willie Mays signature? No doubt, to have TWO Willie Mays signatures, both in the same offering, and both given PSA/DNA's highest autograph grade. Thus, presented is a very rare check, dated May 11, 1995, that is Willie Mays twice-signed. With his 660 home runs, powerful arm, tremendous range and judgment in center field, career .301 batting average and baserunning excellence, Mays could literally do it all. The New York/San Francisco Giants & New York Mets legend passed away on June 18, 2024. The offered check is written on the First Interstate Bank of Menlo Park, California. The check, in EXCELLENT condition, is for the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00). The check has no check number. It is written to "Fred Horton" and in the lower right corner, printed in ink by an unknown hand, reads "SAY HEY FUND OFFICE SUPPLIES." Mays signed in black ink at the top in the space provided to fill in the name of the check writer, and then Willie signed again in black ink on the signature line at the bottom. The check, measuring 3.3x8.1", was cashed. The offering has been encapsulated, and PSA/DNA has graded both beautiful, flowing Mays signatures as "GEM MT 10."
