Vintage wire photo capturing Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) knocking down LaMar Clark in the first round of their heavyweight bout on April 20, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky. As noted in the embedded news caption on the front, Clay knocked out Clark in the second round. The bout against Clark was Clay's sixth fight as a professional. As such, this is one of the earliest Clay fight photos we have ever seen, let alone offered. An "Associated Press Wirephoto" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with a "Property of Newspaper Division Field Enterprises, Inc." stamp, which is dated "Apr 1961." The photo (8x10") displays several light-to-moderate creases.
