A New York Yankees jersey worn during the 1964 season by relief pitcher Pete Mikkelsen. The gray number 51 jersey does not have any tagging but the number 64 is written on the front tail. The garment shows nice wear with minor staining and loose threads. The jersey also shows some signs of repair with restoration on New York and the number, and replacement buttons. Mikkelsen broke into the big leagues in 1964 and would go on to play until 1972. Yankee memorabilia is always popular and this is a special item from the days of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris who were both on the team in '64.
