A large section of carpet, 27x72" that one covered the floor at Mickey Mantle's Holiday Inn Lounge. The Yankee slugger opened the successful hotel in Joplin, Missouri in the late 1950s, selling it eight years later. The carpet was featured in the lounge of one of Missouri's earliest sports bars. The carpet section is green and cream and features the numbers 1931 for the player's birth year along with images of baseball gloves, bats, home plate, Mantle's initials MM, his jersey, and cleats. Please note, the magazine featured in the listing does not come with the lot and is only used for referencing the carpet on the cover. Mantle remains the most popular player in collecting and this is a rare and unique piece for any fan of the MLB icon.
