Displayed is a Honus Wagner signed government postcard with a PSA/DNA Certified AUTO GRADE of "Mint 9." Many baseball experts rank Wagner as the best shortstop of all time. Barrel-chested and bow-legged, Wagner was a true 5-tool player who could play any infield or outfield position. He played in the Major Leagues from 1897-1917, all with the Pittsburgh Pirates except for his first four seasons, with the Louisville Colonels. Wagner hit .328 lifetime, and he was an 8-time NL batting champion. He had 3,420 hits and 723 stolen bases, and he was a member of the 1909 World Champions. Wagner's famous T206 baseball card is one of the Holy Grails in the hobby. The offered signed postcard measures 3.25x5.5", and Wagner signed in blue ink. The postcard was self-addressed to a person in North Quincy, Massachusetts, and the postcard is postmarked was Carnegie, Pennsylvania, where Wagner lived. The card postmark is dated as August 9th, but the year is not visible. The offering shows slight darkening from the passage of years. There is a tape remnant, measuring about a square half inch, on the bottom of the signature side, but not impinging on the signature. The postcard has been encapsulated, with a PSA/DNA Certified AUTO GRADE of "MINT 9."
