The 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only NFL team to have had a perfect season. Presented is a beautiful, full size Ridell, Miami Dolphins limited-edition helmet, with 41 autographs from that iconic team. Led by head coach, Hall of Famer Don Shula, the Dolphins went 14-0 in the regular season. They defeated the Cleveland Browns 20-14 in the Division Round, and in the Conference Championship game, Miami beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 21-17. Then, the Dolphins prevailed by a 14-7 score against the Washington Redskins to win the Super Bowl and achieve a combined regular season and playoff record of an amazing 17-0. Starting quarterback Bob Griese, a Hall of Famer, broke his ankle in Game 5 and did not return to action until partway through the Conference Championship game. Earl Morrall handled the quarterback duties when Griese was out. Hall of Fame Fullback Larry Csonka and halfback Mercury Morris each rushed for over 1,000 yards, and running back Jim Kiick ran for 521 yards. Hall of Fame Wide receiver Paul Warfield was the primary pass catcher, with 29 receptions for 606 yards and three touchdowns. Defensive end Bill Stanfill, Hall of Fame middle linebacker Nick Buoniconti, and safeties Jake Scott and Dick Anderson all made the Pro Bowl.
