Displayed are four (4) 1966 Baltimore Orioles Calvert Whiskey World Series card stock scorecards for each game of the Orioles' Series sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Although termed scorecards, the four displays are really more like scoreboards. Measuring 10x30", these hung in bars so that the score from each inning could be recorded for the patrons to see. Each of the scorecards has "Orioles" preprinted in black as the home team on the line score. Actually, the first two games of the '66 World Series were played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, but the offered scoreboards have been scored in black marker, and although the handwritten line score is correct, for the first two games the Orioles are nevertheless listed as the home team. The heading of each scorecard reads, "Calvert World Series Score Card." The line score, runs, hits, and errors totals, home run hitters, and pitchers for each team in each game have been written in black marker by an unknown hand. In Game 1, the Orioles defeated the Dodgers 5-2, and those two Dodger runs were the only tallies that Los Angeles managed in the entire Series, still a record. As an example of how the scorecards were utilized, the scorecard tally for Game 1 lists "Frank and Brooks Robinson" homering for Baltimore, with Don Drysdale as the losing pitcher and Dave McNally as the winning hurler. An interesting mistake was made by whoever was recording the information on the scorecards when in Game 2 the losing pitcher for the Dodgers was spelled as "Coufax" [sic]. Frank Robinson, with a .286 Series batting average and two home runs, was the Series MVP. The Orioles used only four pitchers in the entire Series: Wally Bunker, Dave McNally (two starts), and Jim Palmer as starters, and Moe Drabowsky as a reliever. The Orioles had a combined Series ERA of an amazing 0.50. Each of the scorecards features the Orioles colors of black and orange. The offered scorecards have some tape marks and tape at the corners and edges, some paper loss at some corners, and the colors on the scorecards are slightly faded. Overall, despite the aforementioned imperfections, the scorecards present well and serve as a wonderful remembrance of the Baltimore Orioles' great 1966 World Series triumph.
