Presented is a circa 1977-79 Willie Stargell Pittsburgh Pirates Hillerich & Bradsby professional model game used bat. Hall of Famer Stargell, affectionately known as "Pops," played his entire Major League career (1962-82) with the Pittsburgh Pirates. A left fielder and first baseman, the lefty-hitting Stargell batted a lifetime .282 with 475 home runs. The 7-time All-Star was a 2-time World Series Champion and the 1979 NL MVP. He was also the '79 World Series MVP. The '79 season was the last year in which Stargell was a full-time regular. That year he batted .281, with 32 home runs and 82 RBIs. The offered standard finish ash bat is 36.0" long and weighs 35.9 ounces. The Model K44 bat is uncracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left, right, and back barrel and a light coat of pine tar is on the handle. Stargell's number (VIII) is written on the knob in black marker. Etched on the front barrel is "GENUINE K44/"Willie Stargell," as a facsimile signature, and "LOUISVILLE SLUGGER." A Willie Stargell signature, in big and bold, neatly written blue marker, is on the front barrel. The offering comes with a PSA/DNA Letter of Grading and Authenticity (PSA/DNA Certification: 1B11853, Bat Grade: PSA GU 9).
