Frank Kellert H&B pro-model ("S2") bat issued to Kellert for use in the 1955 World Series. The name "Kellert" is stamped on the barrel in block letters. The block lettering above and below his name reads, respectively, "World Series 1955" and "Brooklyn Dodgers." The bat, which measures 35 inches in length and weighs 31.5 ounces, is not cracked and displays no use. The 1955 World Series marked the first and only World Championship for the Dodgers during their time in Brooklyn and any piece of equipment related to that historic victory is especially significant. World Series bats, by their very nature, are rare, because H&B issued just two to each player for use in the fall classic. This is just the fourth 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series bat we have offered in the past twenty-five years and we cannot recall having seen another Kellert example. First baseman Frank Kellert was with the Dodgers only in 1955. He appeared in 39 games that year, finishing the season with a career-high .325 average, 4 home runs, and 17 RBI. Kellert had one hit in three at bats as a pinch hitter in the 1955 World Series, with his lone hit, a single, coming in the Dodgers' 6-5 loss in Game 1. The bat displays a few small remnants of clear tape on the barrel where a paper label was once displayed.
