If asked to picture the most iconic rookie cards in NBA history, the greats will likely come to mind. Michael Jordan's 1986 Fleer #57, Bird/Ervin/Magic's 1980 Topps Scoring Leaders, Julius Erving's 1972 Topps #195 or LeBron James' 2003 Topps Chrome #111. What separates LeBron from the rest of the list is that his "main" rookie release featured refractors with limited print runs. Aside from the unnumbered refractor, there is also the black refractor /500, X-Fractor /220 and gold refractor /50. Here we have one of the black refractor examples, graded PSA GEM MINT 10. According to the PSA pop report, only 21 (or 4% of the print run) achieved the GEM MINT grade. One may attribute the low pop to the fact that the black borders make any flaw significantly easier to see, thus making it extremely difficult to grade perfectly. Card is number 326 out of the 500. Key piece to any high end LeBron James or NBA collector's collection.
