Exceedingly rare 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates full ticket issued for the final game of the season against the New York Mets in which Roberto Clemente recorded his 3,000th hit. Graded VG 3 (MK) by PSA. Aside from the ticket issued for Clemente's Major League debut in 1955 (which realized $121,334 in Lelands' 2023 Spring Auction), this is the most important Clemente ticket in the hobby and one that is seldom seen. Its rarity is affirmed by the fact that it is one of only two full examples listed in the PSA Population Report, with the other certified simply as Authentic. Sadly, Clemente's 3,000th hit was also his final regular-season career hit because he died tragically in an airplane crash just three months later, on December 31st, while delivering relief supplies to Nicaraguan earthquake victims. The ticket (4.5x2.25") has the black-ink notation, "Clemente's 3000th Hit" written on the reverse, hence the "MK" qualifier.
