A "pretzel" style face mask made by Jacque Plante's company, Fibrosport, in the 1960s. Plante, a Hall of Fame goalie mostly known for his time with the Canadiens, was the first netminder to wear a mask on a regular basis. He also created the company Fibrosport which designed masks, including this one. The toffee-colored mask is made from fiberglass and shows excellent wear, especially on the vintage original straps. While today's goalie helmets are cutting edge and safe, this is an important forerunner to them and represents an important part of hockey history.
