Displayed is a 1957 Cleveland Indians' team-signed ball, with Hall of Fame pitchers Bob Lemon and Early Wynn and, at the top of a panel, rookie Roger Maris. The Reach Official American League Ball (Harridge) has 29 signatures, in blue or purple ballpoint pen. Key signatures: M. Harder, B. Daley, H. Score, D. Mossi, R. Colavito, G. Woodling, E. Stanley, R. Kress, and J. Altobelli. The Indians had a 76-77 record in '57, and they finished in 6th place in the AL. Early Wynn, pitching for three AL teams, was able to win exactly 300 games in his career. Bob Lemon, who started off his Major League career as a third baseman and outfielder, transitioned to pitching and won 207 games. Roger Maris was a rising young star who hit 14 home runs and batted .235 for Cleveland in '57. Eventually, he went to the New York Yankees and had his miraculous '61 season when he hit 61 home runs to break Babe Ruth's then-single-season home run record. The ball is in good condition but shows some darkening, and the signatures are legible but show fading. The ball comes with a JSA LOA.
