Displayed is a 1957 Detroit Tigers team-signed Official American League Ball (Harridge) with twenty-seven (27) autographs. The '57 Tigers finished in 4th place in the American League with a 78-76 record. Manager Jack Tighe signed on the sweet spot. A pair of Hall of Famers also signed the ball: Right fielder Al Kaline, only 22 years old, batted .295 that season, with 23 home runs and 90 RBIs, and right-hander Jim Bunning went 20-8 in '57, with a 2.69 ERA. A particularly interesting signer was Ray Boone, a descendant of explorer and woodsman Daniel Boone and the patriarch of the famous Boone baseball family, which includes son Bob Boone, a former Major League catcher and manager, and Bob's sons, Aaron and Bret Boone. Aaron is currently the manager of the New York Yankees. Also signing: Harvey Kuenn, Duke Maas, Steve Boros, Johnny Groth, Frank Yary, Charlie Maxwell, Paul Foytack, Bill Tuttle, Harry Byrd, Dave Philley, Frank Bolling, Red Wilson, Reno Bertoia, and many more. The offered signed baseball is in excellent to mint condition. The autographs, in blue ballpoint pen, are 8/10 overall. The ball comes with a Reach paper "Base Ball" bag. The bag has extensive wear, with tears and folds, and paper discoloration, and it measures approx. 2.25x6".
