Displayed is a 1925 Ben Paschal signed New York Yankees contract. Paschal played eight Major League seasons: Cleveland Indians (1915), Boston Red Sox (1920), New York Yankees (1924-29). With the Yankees, Paschal, an outfielder, found playing time hard to come by because for a good time on the Yankees, the regular outfielders were Babe Ruth, Hall of Famer Earle Combs with a .325 lifetime batting average, and Bob Meusel who batted .309 lifetime. Yet in 1925, Paschal did manage to play quite a bit, and he had a terrific season: .360 average, 12 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a 1.028 OPS. For his career, Paschal batted .309, with 24 home runs and a .857 OPS. In short, Paschal was a very good player on some great Yankees teams, and he was on two Yankees World Champion teams. The contract is four pages, measuring 8.5x11". It has folds from when it was folded into six parts for mailing. The contract is dated as March 21, 1925. Paschal agreed to a salary of $3,000.
