Circa 1956 Cincinnati Redlegs jersey worn during the 1956 season. Between 1954 and 1958 the Cincinnati team was known as the Redlegs due to the Communist scare in Washington DC. This jersey, belonging to pitcher Paul LePalme, is gray with red lettering. LePalme's number 38 is featured on the right chest and reverse side and there is a Redlegs logo stitched into the right chest. The sleeveless garment shows significant wear with dirt stains throughout. The collar tag shows that the jersey has been made by McGregor and is a size 44. Also included in the lot is a red undershirt, size XL. LePalme, a knuckleballer, spent seven years in the big leagues with 1956 being his only season in Cincinnati.
