Displayed is an Alan Trammell glove that was both game used and signed by the Hall of Fame shortstop. Trammell played his entire 20-year MLB career for the Detroit Tigers, 1977-96. He batted a lifetime .285, with 185 home runs and 2,365 hits. The 6-time All-Star was a 4-time Gold Glove winner, a 3-time Silver Slugger, and on the '84 World Champion Detroit Tigers, winning the '84 World Series MVP. He and his longtime Detroit Tigers double-play partner, second baseman Lou Whittaker, played an MLB still-record 19 seasons as the keystone combination for Detroit. After his playing career, Trammell coached for five Major League teams and managed the Detroit Tigers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The offered glove is an SSK Dimple II model. It shows light use, as it was most likely sent to Trammell to try out. Stamped on the front of the glove: DIMPLE II/Dimple Process/The Professional Edge. Stamped on back: Made in Japan/SSK. Also on back is an embroidered, facsimile Alan Trammell signature on the thumb. Trammell signed the glove on the back thumb in neatly scripted silver marker.
