Rare pairing of the scorecard and broadside issued for a game between Jackie Robinson's All-Stars and the Memphis Red Sox in 1950. All items related to Robinson's annual postseason barnstorming tours are scarce and these two examples are no exception. The scorecard is especially rare and is just the second example we have ever offered. 1) Scorecard. The cover of the scorecard features a large full-length image of Robinson in a batting pose and is titled "Souvenir-Autograph Score Card/Jackie Robinson's All-Stars." As noted by the preprinted lineups on the interior, this scorecard was issued for a game between Robinson's All-Stars and the Memphis Red Sox, but it has not been scored. Also included on the interior are portrait images of Roy Campanella and Lary Doby, both of whom were on Robinson's team, and Dr. W. S. Martin, owner of the Memphis Red Sox. The scorecard (6x9") displays a small diagonal crease on the back cover and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. 2) Broadside. The broadside heralds the arrival of Jackie Robinson's All Stars for a game against the Memphis Red Sox at Martin's Stadium on Sunday, October 22nd. In addition to Robinson, the broadside lists additional stars who would appear that day, including Roy Campanella, Larry Doby, Don Newcombe, and King Tutt, the "World's Greatest Negro Baseball Comedian." The broadside (6.25x9.25"), which is printed on thin paper stock, is toned and displays a few tiny tears and light creases along the base. Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
