Displayed is a vintage pro basketball 1955-56 Philadelphia Warriors World Champions pin and ribbon, with small photos of each of the team's players. The pin is 2.3" in diameter and two approx. 3" ribbons are attached. One of the ribbons has PHILA WARRIORS machine-printed on it. The tiny but clear photos of the players include Hall of Famers Paul Arizin, Neil Johnston, and Tom Gola. In that 1955-56 campaign, the Warriors had a 45-27 regular season record. In the NBA Finals, the Warriors defeated the Fort Wayne Pistons 4-1 in games. To get to the Finals, the Warriors had to vanquish the Syracuse Nationals, the previous NBA Champion. Ironically, for the 1962-63 season, the Syracuse nationals moved to Philadelphia and became the Philadelphia 76ers when the Warriors moved to California to become the San Francisco Warriors, and later the Golden State Warriors. The pin reads, "Philadelphia Warriors/National Basketball Association and World Champions 1955-56." The two ribbons, one blue and the other yellow have some small stains and some folds, but the pin itself is in very good condition.
