Circa 1978 game worn number 29 New York Yankees jersey worn by Jim "Catfish" Hunter. The front tail tag notes that the item is a size 46 manufactured by Wilson. The inside collar features Hunter, in script, stitched into the collar followed by the numbers 78 and 2. The gray road jersey shows terrific use throughout. The front side features the words "Best Wishes" and is signed Jim "Catfish" Hunter. An armband has been removed from jersey's left sleeve, which would have been a black band to mourn the loss of Thurman Munson, who died in a plane crash in 1979. A letter of opinion from MEARS Authenticators is included. MEARS has graded the jersey as an A10. Hunter signed with the New York Yankees in 1975 and is considered to be the sport's first major free agent. A three-time World Series winner with Oakland, Hunter would earn two more championships with the Yankees in 1977 and 1978. Hunter, who was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987, passed away in 1999.
