Displayed is a collection of six (6) full tickets and ticket stubs from the 1986 World Series between the New York Mets and the Boston Red Sox. All of the tickets and stubs are for games at the Mets' Shea Stadium. There are two full tickets that are graded: 1) A ticket to Game 6 at Shea Stadium in which the Red Sox first baseman, Bill Buckner, missed a grounder for an error that let Mookie Wilson reach first base give the Mets a 6-5 win in the game and tie the Series at three games apiece. The ticket measures 2x7" and is for a $40.00 field box seat. In part, the ticket reads, "World Series 1986/Game 6/Shea Stadium." The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded FR 1.5. 2) A ticket for Game 7, on Oct. 27, in which the Mets, with Roger McDowell getting the win and Jesse Orosco the save, defeated Boston 8-5 to win the World Series. In part, the $40.00 field box seat ticket reads, "World Series 1986/Game 7/Shea Stadium." The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded GOOD 2. There is another Game 7 full ticket. This ticket reads, in part, 'World Series 1986 Game 7/Shea Stadium." It is a press box ticket. The pristine ticket has been encased in Lucite for use as a gift, perhaps as an ornament or paperweight. The ticket measures 2x7". The offering measures approx. 2.5x7.5", with a height of 0.8". The collection also includes two 2x4.5" stubs, one for Game 1 and the other for Game 2, both held at Shea Stadium. Both tickets are for $40.00 field boxes. The Game 1 stub has a few small folds, and the Game 2 stub has a few tiny stains. Otherwise, the stubs are in nice condition. Also included is a full ticket for Game 1. The 2x7" ticket is for a $40.00 box seat. The ticket has a small line near the bottom but is in otherwise excellent condition.
