Circa 1965-1968 Elston Howard game used bat is a marvelous specimen grading PSA GU 9. Measuring 36.0" and weighing 33.0 ounces, this Hillerich and Bradsby model K55 shows extensive use with a handle crack, checking to the barrel, pine tar residue on handle, and overall wear. The model number is stamped on the knob along with a light, handwritten number 32 just above; that was the number Howard wore for the New York Yankees during the labeling period from 1965-67 and while it's possible he used this while with the Boston Red Sox in '67-68, it is more likely that he swung this fine piece of lumber in the Bronx. Noted for his outstanding defense - with two Gold Glove awards at catcher - to go with his 1963 American League MVP award, Howard was also a trailblazer as the first Black player to wear Yankee pinstripes when he joined the club in 1955. Comes with Full PSA LOA.
