Though much has been written about this fabled quartet, this book entitled, "The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame" by James Peterson is rare in its own right but particularly so as it is signed by each of the four legends. First page inside the cover is inscribed by Don Miller above his signature, "To C. Grief Raible, With Sincere Best Wishes 'The Four Horsemen.'" Other Horsemen to sign the page are Jim Crowley, Elmer Layden, and Harry Stuhldreher; also includes Hall of Famers Red Grange, Ernie Nevers, and Pat O'Brien, as well as the author, Peterson, on the following page (note that O'Brien added "The Fifth Horseman" above his signature). Published by Hinckley & Schmitt of Chicago, the pages within have a distinctive feature in that each is actually a folded double-page with writing only on one side, giving the appearance that each is connected at the top with the insides being blank. Book is in EX condition while signatures all 8-9/10. With their nickname being coined by sportswriter Grantland Rice, the talented backfield foursome was dominant in losing just two games in a 3-year span from 1922 to 1924. Awesome artifact with all four signed one-after-another on the same page comes with full letter from PSA/DNA authenticating the signatures.
