Exceedingly rare full proof ticket issued for the third and final National League playoff game between the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers at the Polo Grounds in which Bobby Thomson hit his famous "Shot Heard Round the World." Graded VG 3 by PSA. This is one of only three Game 3 proof tickets listed in the PSA Population Report and the only example graded at this level. The two others are an unsigned EX-MT 6 and a signed EX 5. The Giants defeated the Dodgers in dramatic fashion in Game 3 of the playoffs, with Bobby Thomson's three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth capping a four-run rally to give the Giants a 5-4 victory. For many fans listening to the game on the radio, they will never forget Russ Hodges' emotional refrain of "The Giants Win the Pennant" repeated over and over as Thomson circled the bases. The proof ticket (6.25x1.75") displays a very light center crease that is only visible from the reverse and is otherwise EX-MT in its overall frontal appearance.
