Historic ticket stub issued for the third and final National League playoff game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants, held at the Polo Grounds on October 3, 1951. Graded GOOD 2 (MK) by PSA. This is a rare ticket stub and one of only nine (including qualifiers) listed in the PSA Population Report. It is also just the second example we have ever offered. (The other, graded PR 1, appeared in our 2022 Fall Classic, where it realized $6,900.) The game, of course, is one of the most memorable in baseball as Bobby Thomson's three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Giants a 5-4 win, and with it, the National League pennant. The ticket stub (1.75x3.25") displays several light creases and red ink notations on the reverse that read "Oct 3/51 - Giants 5 Dodgers 4."
