Pair of original double-weight silver gelatin photographs, each signed by Hall of Fame manager Joe McCarthy. PSA has individually encapsulated each photo and certified the signatures as "Authentic." Both photos picture McCarthy posing with Earl Van Dorn Catoe Jr., who would later become Mayer of Webb, Mississippi, during spring training. The first photo (5x7") is inscribed in black fountain pen (grading 6/10) along the top border: "To Van Dorn/From Joe McCarthy/1949." EX, with a slight abrasion near the top border (not affecting the inscription). The second photo (8x10") is inscribed in blue fountain pen (grading 8/10) in the upper right corner: "With Best Wishes/To My Pal/Van Dorn Catoe/Sincerely/Joe McCarthy/1950." A "Catoe Studio Webb, Miss." credit stamp appears on the reverse. VG-EX, with a few light creases.
