Vintage circa 1953 Warren Godfrey Boston Bruins game used jersey has a tremendous "Original Six" look and comes from a long-time collector. Black jersey has yellow and white sleeves, and is a heavy top that evokes the image of the traditional hockey "sweater." A "B" logo (just the letter, not the familiar spoked-B) is in yellow felt sewn on white felt on the chest, with number 6 on back in the same style. A torn but legible Jim McCarthy Athletic Equipment tag is sewn inside the tail next to a size 48 tag. We might need to reclassify this as "game abused" as it is simply hammered, including both the logo and number displaying several separated stitches, plus holes, skate cuts, and extensive fraying at the collar and tail. Godfrey was a defenseman who was a rookie in 1952-53 with the Bruins, and he proceeded to play 789 games over 16 NHL seasons. Jersey comes from a long-time collector and has a terrific look.
