Jordan scored 15 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the Wizards' 107-87 loss that night. Over 21,000 fans turned out that night to say farewell to one of the game's greatest players, while millions around the world watched on television. With the game winding down, the Sixers intentionally fouled Jordan, so that he could go to the line for the last points of his career and then exit with a standing ovation. After the game, Jordan remarked "Now I guess it hits me that I'm not going to be in a uniform anymore — and that's not a terrible feeling. It's something that I've come to grips with, and it's time.
