Medal measures 2.5x3" with year 1997 on top, ESPN and ESPN2 logos on either side of the X-Games logo, and X-GAMES on bottom. Back is engraved "Men's Downhill, In Line Skating," has original red and black ribbon and weighs 272 grams. Trophy measures roughly 11" high with faux rock base reading "Extreme Games" and small engraved plate reading "In-Line Skating Downhill Champion." Sitting atop is a plastic X-Games logo. This is from just the third year in which the games were held, with Downing dominating the competition in the early years.
