Before he became one of the most dominant offensive linemen in NFL history, Anthony Munoz made his presence felt at the 1980 Rose Bowl wearing this USC Trojans helmet. Dated from January 1, 1980, the last game of the '79-80 season, this maroon helmet with Trojans gold logo decal on each side is simply battered with use, with scrapes, paint transfers, and gouges throughout. The plastic clips on this Riddell helmet have broken and the mask has come loose, though it and even the broken clips remain present. Munoz was injured in the first game of the 1979 season and did not play again until that Rose Bowl contest, but he made his presence count as USC edged Ohio State by a 17-16 margin. So dominant was his play at left tackle during his 13 NFL seasons, all with the Cincinnati Bengals, that Munoz became a household name - a rarity for offensive linemen - while being named an All-Pro 11 times, easily earning his place in the Hall of Fame in Canton.
