Displayed is a beautiful 1998 New York Yankees World Champions ring display box. This display box is what the World Championship rings came in when they were given to the players. The '98 Yankees were a true powerhouse team. They went 114-48 to win the American League East Division by 22.0 games over the second place Boston Red Sox. The Bronx Bombers defeated the Texas Rangers 3-0 in games to win the AL Division Series, beat the Cleveland Indians 4-2 in games to win the American League Pennant, and swept the San Diego Padres to win the World Series. The Yankees had great help from their "Core Four" players: Starting left-hander Andy Pettitte, the closer - righthander Mariano Rivera, shortstop Derek Jeter and catcher Jorge Posada. The Yankees Core Four players were all signed by the Yankees in the early 1990s, were all on the Major League team by '95, and they all became part of a Yankee dynasty that won four World Championships in five years: '96, '98, '99, and 2000. In '98, Pettitte went 16-11, Rivera had 36 saves, Jeter hit .324, with 19 home runs and 84 RBIs, and Posada hit .268, with 17 homers and 63 RBIs. Hall of Famers on the team were manager Joe Torre, Jeter, Rivera, and outfielder Tim Raines. The impressive wooden box measures 6x7.5", with a height of 2.5". The box weighs 22.25 ounces. The clear plastic "window" on top reads NEW YORK YANKEES 1998 WORLD CHAMPIONS. This box does not have a ring in it, but it is perfect for someone who has the ring and not the box. Even without a World Series ring, this decorative box makes an impressive display on its own.
