Hartford Whalers jerseys have enjoyed a surge of popularity of late and this specimen should be of great interest to collectors of Whale memorabilia. Circa 1984 green road top was game worn by Dan Bourbonnais has the two-piece Whalers logo on the chest, with the "W" and the tail in white-on-blue coming together to form an "H" from the jersey background. A white thread in the top of the collar could be from a removed tag, and no other tagging is evident. This is of a particularly desired style, with the seldom-seen white whale logo patch with blue trim on each shoulder. Number 31 is on shoulders and back, name is in individually-sewn letters above the rear number, all in white-on-blue tackle twill. Superb use is displayed with paint transfers, and a small hole on the right elbow; sewn inside is a button which has a string attached, used to tie down the jersey in lieu of a fight strap. Bourbonnais played just 59 NHL games - all with Hartford - over the span of his two seasons, making both style and substance a much-coveted rarity.
