Displayed is a 1924 New York Giants sterling silver season pass to the Polo Grounds (V). The Giants won the National League pennant with a 93-60 record and had a stacked roster, as eight Hall of Famers played at least some part of the season. Those Hall of Famers included: first baseman George Kelly, who batted .324 in '24 and led the team with 21 homers; second baseman Frankie Frisch, who hit .328 that year; infielder Travis Jackson (.302); outfielder Ross Youngs (.356); Other Hall of Famers on the '23 Giants: First baseman Bill Terry, infielder Fred Lindstrom, outfielder Hack Wilson, outfielder Billy Southworth. That great talent was managed by Hall of Famer John McGraw. The Giants lost the World Series in '24, in six games, to the Washington Senators. The season pass measures 1.6x0.75", weighs 3/8ths of an ounce, and it is creatively shaped like a gate. On the pass is "GIANTS 1924 Open Gate/Chas. A. Stoneham Pres." On the back is "206/H. J. BENSON (to whom it was issued)/1924." Also on the back, the pass is marked by Lambert Bros. and the pass is marked "Sterling." A very small circular "eye" is on top, from which a chain could be used, but there is no chain. The attractive pass is in NRMT condition.
