Amazing look to this circa 1940s Chicago Cubs hat game used and signed by Andy Pafko. Rare style Wilson wool cap is royal blue with red button and C logo (which looks more like the Cincinnati Reds' "C" than the now-familiar rounded C that the Cubs use). The colors remain stunningly bold but game use is definitely displayed on the sweat-toned white leather band, which has Wilson and size 6 7/8 tags (note that the size tag is sewn into the band and the top half is not visible). Originating directly from Pafko, it is signed under the bill in equally bold 8/10 black Sharpie, making this an exceptional piece from the 17-year veteran who earned five All-Star Game nods - all in his nine seasons in the Windy City.
