Rare and tough-to-find 1911 Official American League baseball comes with original box. While the ball does show some age, it retains a fantastic look. The ball is unused and has moderate toning and general signs of handling, but the stamps are clear and bright. The alternating red-and-blue stitches show some fading, and the original A.J. Reach box is present, though the lid is missing and it has taken a beating in the over one-century since its production. Note that there is no commissioner signature, which makes sense as Kenesaw "Mountain" Landis did not become the game's first such honcho until nine years later, in December of 1920. This ball is extremely difficult to acquire - one of the hardest of vintage Major League balls - and evokes images of stars of the era such as Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, and Joe Jackson.
