Presented is a 1926 panoramic team photo of the Cleveland Indians. The Indians were managed that season by future Hall of Fame outfielder Tris Speaker, and the team had a season record of 88-66, for second place in the American League. They played their home games at Dunn Field and drew 627,426 fans for the year. Speaker, at 38 years old, was a player-manager who played regularly and batted .304, with 88 RBIs. Another future Hall of Famer in the photo is shortstop Joe Sewell, who hit .324 in '26. Cleveland's key pitcher that year was George Uhle, who had a 27-11 season record, with a 2.83 ERA. The visible part of the photograph measures 7x32.25", and the photo is framed at 8.5x34". Speaker is in the middle of the picture, 14th from the left. Sewell is at the far left, at 5'6" he was lined up with the other "little guys." Uhle is twelfth from the left. George Burns was a star on the team, and he is not the famous comedian. The opposition surely didn't find this George Burns funny, since the first baseman batted .358 that season. Players are easily identifiable as each player's name is printed under his photograph. The photo s in a vintage, possibly original frame. Some edges have slight discoloration from dampness, and may be stuck to glass at edges. All players images are unaffected by any flaws. The panorama photograph is in VG condition overall, with a crease noticed in the center.
