Collection of seven original photographs chronicling the 1924 World Baseball Tour made by the New York Giants and Chicago White Sox. This was the third and final such world tour made by the two clubs, the goal of which was to popularize the game of baseball throughout the world. The 1924 tour took the players to seven European countries, including England, France, Germany, and Italy. Like the previous two tours (1914 and 1917), the 1924 excursion also included several players from other clubs to help round out each team. 

The offered collection of photos originate from the club's time in England and include five on-field images, plus two taken onboard the ocean liner that transported them to Europe. 1-2) Two identical on-field photos (10x8"; PR-FR) picturing King George V of England greeting the New York Giants. 3) On-field photo (9.5x6.25"; FR-GD) of Hughie Jennings introducing the Giants club to the Prince of Wales. 4) On-field photo (10x8"; FR-GD) of Johnny Evers introducing the Chicago club to King George V and the Prince of Wales. 5) On-field photo (10x8"; VG) of King George walking past the Chicago club. 6) Photo (8.5x6.5"; GD) capturing sixteen members of the tour, dressed in street clothes, posing on board their ship prior to their arrival in England, including Johnny Evers. 7) Photo (8.5x6.5; VG) capturing seventeen members of the tour debarking from the ship upon arrival in England, including John McGraw, Hughie Jennings, Johnny Evers, and Frankie Frisch. Six of the photos display English news agency photo stamps on the reverse. The seventh (Prince of Wales greeting the Giants), has adhesive residue on the reverse from having once been mounted in an album, along with a 1996 Christie's label denoting that it originates from the Baseball Magazine Archives.
