Circa 1950 Brooklyn Dodgers cap shows nice use by Hall of Fame shortstop Pee Wee Reese. Royal blue cap has white embroidered "B" and white button, with leather headband bearing Rawlings tag and size 7 1/8 stamp. Light use is displayed and the condition is marvelous, with no cracking to the bill or the headband. Comes with Dick Dobbins LOA on San Francisco Giants Memorabilia stationery, describing this hat and how it was obtained. Decades after his retirement in 1958, a common refrain was "Pee Wee belongs in the Hall," as he was one of the finest shortstops of his era but the position remained underrepresented as it was historically more of a defensive position. Finally, in 1984, the Veterans Committee voted Reese into his deserved place in the hallowed Halls of Cooperstown.
