Circa 1950s Type I photo of a baby-faced Mickey Mantle has a tremendous look. Dapperly clad in jacket and silk tie, Mick looks slightly uncomfortable surrounded by a handful of similarly clad men. This shouldn't be surprising as Mantle was just 19 years of age when he joined the Yankees in 1951, and he looks every bit of a young man from Oklahoma trying to adjust to his newfound fame in the big city. Some creasing is present to the bottom left corner, corners display minor dings, and there is either a repaired tear or crease running from the top of the young slugger's head to the top border. These minor defects blend into the dark background and do not detract from the central image. Back is blank except for a Walter A. Walsh photographer's stamp. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
