Historic Type I photograph picturing Mickey Mantle posing with Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams at Yankee Stadium just prior to his first Major League game as a New York Yankee on April 17, 1951. Years later, the owner of the photo was lucky enough to obtain Mantle's signature, which has been boldly scripted in blue Sharpie (grading 9/10) across his image. Although this is a famous image, reproduced countless times in publications and online, it should be noted that original Type I examples are rare, especially those signed by Mantle. This is the first we have ever offered and we cannot recall the last time we have seen another. An "International News" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption, which is dated "4/17/51." The photo (9x7.25") displays several light creases and is in Very Good condition overall. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic. Also accompanied by a full LOA from PSA for the Mantle signature.
