Pair of original snapshot images capturing Jackie Robinson and his young son, Jackie Jr., in 1949. Both of the scalloped-edge photos picture Robinson and his son posing in what appears to be a public park. Although the photos are not dated, they are accompanied by the original mailing envelope from the "Camera Shop" of New York City, which is postmarked "Aug 23 1949." Jackie Jr., who was born on November 9, 1946, was almost three years old at the time of these photographs. His famous father was probably in good spirits that summer, as he was in the midst of what would be his finest overall season in the Majors. Jackie Robinson batted a career and league-high .342 with 16 home runs and 124 RBI in 1949. Those numbers later earned him MVP honors at season's end. Each photo (3.5x5.75") remains in Excellent to Mint condition. The mailing envelope (6.5x4") is in Very Good condition.
