Legendary sports photographer George Burke was behind the lens to snap this early shot of Ted Williams, likely from the early 1940s, possibly 1941. Acetate negative is vintage, original, and came right from the camera of Burke, who is widely acclaimed as one of the best baseball photographers of all time. Negative measures 5x7" with a couple of editor's cuts to the border; there is no patch on The Splendid Splinter's shoulder, thus we can conclusively state that it's not from his 1939 rookie season.
