Circa 1915-16 Type I photograph of Hall of Fame outfielder Sam Rice as seen through the lens of noted photographer Paul Thompson. Photo measures 6.5x8.5" and shows Rice following through on a throw, presumably during warmups. Back is blank except for a stamp from "The Ring, Inc." and a pencil notation identifying the player along with his team, "Wash Amer." One of the most prolific hitters of his era, Rice accounted for a .322 career batting average over the span of his 20-year career, appearing in over 2,400 games. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic. The encapsulation notes this as a "ROOKIE" image c. 1915-16; Rice played in just four games in 1915 and 58 the following year.
