Displayed is a mini Stanley Cup Trophy from the 1964-65 season when the Montreal Canadiens won the full-sized Stanley Cup and began another Montreal dynasty by winning the Stanley Cup in four of five years - '65, '66, '68, and '69. This new Canadiens dynasty brought Montreal fans back to memories of the 1950s Canadien dynasty. The 1964-65 Canadiens were loaded with talent. Six players of that team became Hall of Famers: Jean Beliveau RW (Capt.), Dick Duff LW, Henri Richard C, Yvan Cournoyer RW, Jacques Laperriere D, and Gump Worsley G. In addition, the '64-'65 head coach, Toe Blake, is in the HOF as a player. This '64-'65 Montreal team had a regular season record of 36-23-11 and defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in the semi-finals of the play-offs, and in the Stanley Cup finals won 4-3 in games. Claude Provost, a right wing, led the '64-'65 Cup winners in scoring with 27 goals and 37 assists for 64 points. Center Ralph Backstrom had 55 points, Henri Richard had 52 points, and Beliveau notched 43 points. Charlie Hodge and Worsley were the goalies, with Worsley having two shutouts in the playoffs, including one in the Stanley Cup Finals in Game 7. Beliveau won the inaugural Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP, as he scored 8 goals and added 8 assists for 16 points in the 13 playoff games. The mini trophy is 12.75" tall. and 5.75" at its base diameter. The gold-colored plating has worn off in some areas, and the plating shows wear and tear. All of the '64-'65 team member names are engraved on the mini-trophy. The inscription on the small trophy reads "NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE/STANLEY CUP WINNERS/1964-1965/CLUB de HOCKEY CANADIEN INC." The mini–Stanley Cup Trophy is similar to other trophies that players and fans possess to celebrate the NHL's greatest team award.
