Mickey Mantle gave fans their money's worth. Sometimes it was from one of his 536 home runs, the most by any switch-hitter in Major League history. Even when the Hall of Famer did not hit a homer, the sheer effort of his swings, and his power laden follow through, even on a strike-out, was thrilling. In fact, Mickey was once asked if he ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run. Mantle's answer: "Only every time." In his younger days, Mickey showed his enormous speed in beating out a bunt, stealing a base, or running down a fly ball. A 3-time American League MVP, Mantle won the 1956 Triple Crown, and fans were enthralled in 1961 when Mantle and Maris chased Babe Ruth's single season home run record of 61. Mantle's entire 18-year Major League career was spent with the New York Yankees, and he was a part of seven World Champions. Offered is a toned Mantle single-signed Rawlings (Costa Rica) Official American League Baseball (Bobby Brown), Model RO-A, from the 1989-92 era.
