Presented is a high quality, very large Princeton University felt pennant, circa early 1900s. Perhaps this pennant appeared at Princeton sporting events in the early Twentieth Century. The large pennant is 45.5" long, and at the larger end it measures 14.5" in height. The pennant goes back to the days when college baseball drew large crowds, and Princeton sent several players to the Major Leagues. The pennant hearkens back to the days when football players used leather helmets, and Princeton was a national football powerhouse. Princeton colors were well established as orange and black, which spurred sportswriters in the 1890s to call the football players, dressed in orange and black stripes, "Tigers." The brilliant orange and black colors in this pennant show no fading. The pennant has all sewn on lettering, and it is in Excellent to Mint condition.
