Addendum (8/30/2022 10:37am ET):  We believe this jersey was used in 1941 and not 1942 as was previously stated online.  We also believe the health patch was added when it was sent to the minor leagues.

Great history emanates from this road gray jersey, which was definitely worn by Hall of Famer Lou Boudreau during the 1941 season. Jersey is in fine condition but shows use as one button has been replaced, though the others are original. Tag in the collar has come out due to use and the sleeves have been shortened.  Sewn on the front tail is "Boudreau 42" in red chain stitch while on the back is the original blue felt number 5. As was often the case, after a period of use in the Majors, the jersey was sent down to Wilkes Barre where the original "CLEVELAND" on the front has been replaced with WILKES BARRE; other than this change and the one button, it is exactly as worn by Boudreau with the Indians and even has the original Health patch on the left sleeve. In perhaps his most significant accomplishment, the shortstop earned American League MVP honors while also managing Cleveland to the 1948 championship; the last time to this day that the franchise captured the title.
