Displayed is a beautiful Arizona Diamondbacks 2001 World Series Championship ring. Under manager Bob Brenly, the Diamondbacks went 92-70 in the regular season, and they were led by the pitching of Curt Schilling (22-6) and Randy Johnson (21-6) and the slugging of Luis Gonzalez, with 57 home runs and 143 RBIs, and defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 in the NL Division Series and the Atlanta Braves 4-1 in the NL Championship Series before facing the New York Yankees in the World Series. In the World Series, the Diamondbacks defeated the Yankees in seven games with Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling as the World Series Co-MVPs, Johnson had a 3-0 record in the Series, with a 1.04 ERA, and Schilling was 1-0, with a 1.69 ERA. The ring was given to Ed Durkin, who was the heart and soul of the Diamondbacks' Scouting Department for 11 years. The ring does not come with the original box. The face of the ring exhibits sparkling diamonds in-and-around the Diamondback logo. The diamonds have been tested and they are genuine. Around the center stone is "World Champions" and "2001." The left prong shows "DURKIN" and images of an American flag and the Diamondback logo. The right prong shows the two participating teams' interlocking letters: "AD" and "NY," and the words "Fastest Ever." Also on the right prong is an image of Bank One Ball Park, the Diamondbacks' home stadium. The ring is a size 14 3/4, and the hefty, 10K ring weighs approx. 56 grams. On the inside band of the ring is inscribed "9-11-01 Never Forget." The gorgeous ring is in excellent condition, and it represents the Diamondbacks' World Championship, and it also brings back the nation's concerns after the 2001 attack on September 11th.
