Offered is a beautiful Mushroom Bat, produced by Spalding circa 1905. The bat is 34.25" in length, and it weighs 39.75 ounces. The mushroom bat gets its name from the mushroom shaped knob The mushroom knob was designed to counter-balance the barrel, giving the bat a balanced swing. Many of the split-handed batters (keeping the hands on the bat separated) of this time period also used the Mushroom Bat, in both ways attempting to increase their bat control. "Spalding Mushroom" is etched into the trademark area. It comes with a PSA/DNA decal on the top of the barrel. The bat has a pleasing patina, and it is in remarkable condition.
